At Tashi’s Yarn Bar, our goal is simple: to create a welcoming, creative space where you can slow down, connect, and make something with your hands. We believe adults deserve places to gather that are cozy, joyful, and centered around community engagement. Whether you’re picking up yarn for the first time or you’ve been crafting for years, our shop is here to support your creativity, offer a little encouragement, and help you unwind with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee or tea in good company.
Come sip and stitch with us at 424 E. 4th Street in Dell Rapids, SD 57022.
Meet the Owner
Natasha (Tashi) learned how to crochet from her mother when she was about ten years old. While the craft took a pause for a time, she picked it back up in her 30s and quickly rediscovered how calming and creative working with yarn can be. She began sharing her crochet journey online under the handle @tashi.at.home, building a supportive community on Instagram and YouTube. As her following grew, she began to sell her handmade items online and at local craft shows. What started as a personal creative outlet slowly turned into something much bigger than she ever anticipated.
When the opportunity to rent the shop space presented itself, it felt like a true God-incidence. With the unwavering support of her husband, who has been her biggest cheerleader throughout the process, the vision for Tashi’s Yarn Bar became a reality. Alongside her creative work, Natasha has spent the past nine years working in education and holds a Master’s degree in Education. Teaching is at the heart of everything she does, and she loves helping people learn new skills in a way that feels approachable and encouraging. Tashi’s Yarn Bar brings together her passions for crochet, wine, and education—creating a space where creativity, connection, and community can flourish.
Meet Abbie
Abbie is our knitting instructor here at Tashi's Yarn Bar. Abbie first learned the basics of knitting around 10 years old, then picked up crochet in high school. After many years of small projects here and there, she dove deeper into a love of knitting garments and more intricate projects. As a stay at home mom to two toddlers with her third baby arriving in May, yarn has been an incredible source of creativity, community, stress relief, and prayer in Abbie’s life, specifically through the mental health changes during pregnancy and postpartum. She finds so much joy sharing her love of yarn with others and is so excited to be part of this incredible fiber community!
